In our last meeting, we discussed the possibility of getting some
political support re the use of GNU/Linux and OSS. Here is a link to a
recent blog by Glyn Moody that talks about something that is going on
in the UK.

In the comments, someone expresses the hope that the conservative
party in Canada considers taking the same position.

Earlier in December, there also was a blog re Australia and their
"schizophrenic" approach.

Also recently, Hungary has made a similar proposal. However, keep in
mind, they supported MS in the recent OOXML fiasco.

At least these articles confirm that there is some political awareness
out there.

@Helios:I seem to remember a state Senator in Texas was trying to get
some action going re the gov't using Linux/OSS.
