Hi

I'm a Linux developer and I'm currently developing Linux extensions for apfs. I have noticed your powerful project. Thank you for the work you have done.

I plan to develop on the basis of it. I plan to try the encryption and decryption function so that I can safely use the Apple's time machine on my soft router, which would be great.

I noticed that there are some other related projects such as apfs-fuse and libfsapfs, all of which claim that the support for compression is not complete. There is no mention of relevant capabilities in your project Readme. I would like to consult about your current ability to support the compression method, and whether there are any new function development plans or bug repair plans in the near future, in case we waste time doing similar work.

Best Regards !

If you think you can do it, that's great.

Compression is supported as far as I know, if you run into problems please
make a bug report. Keep in mind that it's read-only, even the official
implementation doesn't allow writes to compressed files (when you attempt it
the file just gets decompressed on the fly, which I guess I could also
implement in my driver at some point).

The driver is definitely not abandoned, but I don't have a mac so it's hard
for me to figure out all the details around encryption. If you are having
problems with any particular volume and you want to send me an image, I'll
be happy to try to implement whatever you need.
