Luxurious Vintage Auction

&

Launcing of Printed Matter Auction

8 December, 2007

In our third Luxurious Vintage auction, we offer 127 lots of
decorative items, furniture and jewelry with a special emphasis on the
influence of Art Deco and Art Nouveau. With this more offering, we
hope that you will be able to better appreciate the special items that
we have highlighted, while also enjoying the other very nice items
that we present.

Among the attractive and colorful Gouda pieces in the decorative items
section, you will be able to find some fine brass pieces (lots # 019 &
024) and an intricate gilt metal jewelry box (lot #022). However,
animal forms seem to be the most interesting pieces in this auction.
There are ceramic pieces in the form of a hen (lot #006) and cat (lot
#013), as well as assortments of birds made of stone (lots #031 and
033).

In the furniture section, the most attractive pieces in our sale
include a number of "Semarangan" pieces styled after the Art Nouveau
in various items, including tables, chairs and cabinets. Lot #090 is
an especially expressive piece that highlights this sale, and lot #075
is a similar piece. There are also a number of Art Deco style
vanities, with the most spectacular modern forms.

There are some great vintage rings, including a some elegant and
modern designer rings, including a piece from Bvlgari (lot #116). Fine
pieces of brooches and ear studs, embellished with diamonds. Yet, the
most interesting pieces come from Indonesia: a gold ring from Bali
(lot #110) and a North Sumatran (Batak) gold necklace (lot #127).

In our first Printed Matter auction, we present an offering of various
books, maps, prints and photographs. Among the prints we present, are
some special collections of English architectural engravings,
botanical prints and travel sceneries from a collection of which once
decorated an important mansion in Jakarta. Various maps, prints and
photographs depicting the geography, nature and culture of the
Indonesian islands in the past, not only are able to serve as
intriguing decorative items, but also precious historical artifacts in
their own right. We end the sale with a selection of books. The
offering ranges from a variety of general books, books that pertain to
the hobby of collecting, books on ceramics, silver and furniture and
other collectibles which can become important references for
collectors as well as books on art. The sale culminates with a special
selection of books on Indonesia's past.
