Hi,
have downloaded LINRAD for Windows and am following the procedure. However, after engaging set and going through the various set up options, the page just hangs and doesn't open anything after pressing a key to continue. Pressing a key after entering closes the program. Screenshot of set up screen attached. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. Linrad Screen.jpg

Thank you
I will read that thoroughly before doing anything else.

Mike,

Set the screen size to maybe 95% x 95% (you can select that instead of
pixels) and then select E for expert mode or you won't see all the
options we will need to set to get it running.

You haven't got to the setup stuff yet.

What is this Windows 10 or 11 ? 64-bit?

Version 5.02 is old. The latest version I'd recommend is the current
version 6.

Is the SDRplay AP{I version 3.15 installed?

If you want we can get together and do an install together.

Hello Mike,

Always read the text on screen before pressing any key. I your case:

Could not find C:\linrad\dll\x64\inpout64.dll
Run the latest dll installer
http://sm5bsz.com/dll.htm

The first line is an error message.
The second line is an instruction
The third line is the URL you have to go to to find what you need
to follow the instruction.

Hi Rick,
The PC is Windows 10. The version I downloaded was the one listed as the latest. When you say you haven't got all the set up stuff yet, what do you mean? What am I missing?

Hi Leif,
all of these files have been downloaded. Wasn't sure why it was asking me to download them again. Checked the folder. They were present. But the folder shows a yellow ERROR warning. Have tried deleting everything and downloading again,. The same thing happens. I won't trouble you any more with this. Your program clearly doesn't want to work on my PC. Pity really. But nothing more I can do without demonstrating  Einstein's definition of madness.

Hi Mike,

With an ERROR on the folder I conclude that you have a permission problem.
Linrad can not find the files.

I suggest you delete the C:linrad/dll folder, then create it again as an empty folder.
If you get the ERROR on it, delete and try to create is as administrator.
Once you have the empty folder OK, download the .zip file and unpack it
into the dll folder as administrator.

Someone who knows Windows should be able to tell you why you get the ERROR.

Once all dll files are in place and you have the permission to access them
you will get to the setup procedure. I suggest you begin as a newcomer.

Hi Leif,
I tried doing this several times and got the same outcome. Hence the reference to Einstein.
