A small amount of high-quality art and hobby letterpress printing remains — fine letterpress work is crisper than offset litho because of its impression into the paper, giving greater visual definition to the type and artwork.

The process requires a high degree of craftsmanship, but in the right hands, letterpress excels at fine typography. It is used by many small presses that produce fine handmade limited-edition books and artists' books.

Thanks Jerry!

I can now tell you that the Printers’ Hall museum at Mt. Pleasant on now shown on the Old Threshers web site. It even has its own page! It can be found at www.oldthreshers.org and then select Printers’ Hall on the main menu. Those pictures are all from last Fall when we were just getting started. We should have a lot more completed this year and have just struck a deal to obtain two more Linos, two Meihle Verticles, a large Vandercook proof press, a Ludlow, and lots of type cabinets and stones, etc.etc. etc. that we will be moving in there this year as well.

All the best,

Rick
