Controlling log level of ROSSERIAL log calls

I followed a number of trails trying to figure out a command line command (i.e. ROSCONSOLE) way to control the log level on the arduino/teensy. I could not get it to work. All I want is a command I can issue on the linux/ROS side that will allow me to raise and lower the log level. I am pretty sure it's possible. 

(Or do I have to create something myself?)
