Dear LinkML Users,
We are excited to announce that the final steps of the merge of linkml and linkml-runtime (aka the monorepo project) is in its final stages. There are several steps over the next week the LinkML developer team will be completing to finalize this merge. There is nothing you need to do, however, these steps may affect your work with LinkML for the short term. Please take time to review what will be done and feel free to reach out to the developers leading this merge (Kevin, Sujay, Corey, Sierra) if you have any questions or concerns.
➡️ The monrepo release on December 1st will affect you in the following ways:
All development will move into the new monorepo structure.
The linkml and linkml-runtime codebases will now live side-by-side in the LinkML repo: https://github.com/linkml/linkml.
linkml and linkml-runtime will continue to be independent packages importable via PyPI, etc.
Any open branches in either repo will need to be updated to match the new directory structure or reopened against the monorepo.
linkml and linkml-runtime releases will be coordinated from within the monorepo, including release candidates.
CI will run unified workflows.
Please reach out to Kevin, Corey, Sujay, or Sierra if you need support. Also note, we will be available during December Developer Days starting December 5th if you’d like to drop in then for real-time help.
All the best,
LinkML Developer Team
