Solicit feedback. Radical Candor is not solely about bosses giving feedback to employees. In fact, it starts by soliciting feedback up, down, and sideways. You start by asking for feedback because you need to prove you can take it before you start dishing it out. One of the best moments to solicit Radical Candor, especially from the people who work for you, is in a one-on-one meeting.

One bit of tech you can embrace is the eReader. I love reading and do so voraciously when travelling. It helps pass the time on long layovers and overnight trips, and I still think that you will never be able to beat the tactile feel and the smell of a good, old fashioned paperback, but when travelling light, a few books can add a lot of weight. This is why the eReader is an absolute dream, and when you can combine the tech with a good smartphone app and reduce what you carry even more, all the better!

Red Mist, however, turns out to be the son of mob boss John Genovese which leads to Big Daddy's death and the torture of Kick-Ass at the hands of various gangsters. Before long, Kick-Ass is rescued by Hit-Girl and the two get their revenge on John Genovese, together bringing down his entire organization. Kick-Ass shoots John Genovese's genitals off with a gun through a pure fluke, giving Hit-Girl an open opportunity to kill John Genovese with a cleaver. After the loss of Mindy's father, Dave drops her off at her mother's house. Dave returns home to find his father having sex with his teacher (whose boyfriend Hit-Girl had killed) on the couch.

Patience Lee is an Afghanistan war veteran who returns to find her husband has left her and run up large debts. She decides to steal cash from the people ruining the neighborhood, pay off her debts and give half away. She dons the Kick-Ass costume and allows herself to be caught. Once inside she uses her combat skills to take down the gangsters, and forces the boss at gunpoint to hand over all the money; after said boss sends gangsters after Patience's family, she kills them and the boss before taking over his operations as a new crime boss under the "Kick-Ass" name.[4][5][6][7]

Featuring a new preface, afterword and Radically Candid performance review bonus chapter, the fully revised & updated edition of Radical Candor is packed with even more guidance to help you improve your relationships at work. Radical Candor is about caring personally and challenging directly, about soliciting criticism to improve your leadership and also providing guidance that helps others grow. It focuses on praise but doesn't shy away from criticism--to help you love your work and the people you work with.

The world has changed and grown because of the confidence that women have projected into and onto society. Lady Di made sure to remind us that self-love is more important than a title. Elle Woods reminded us that anything is possible if you work hard enough. Rosa Parks taught us to always stand up for what you believe in.

Ok, I recently finished the a few of Cora Reilly's Series (The Bound in Blood series and the Camorra series) and I realised I enjoyed most of them (especially the arranged marriage/enemies to lovers ones) but I really didn't like how most of the FMCs were very...docile and didn't try to fight back at all (neither mentally of physically).

Like, in one of her books (Sweet Temptation), the FMC was almost childlike and obedient to the MMC? And I feel like if I was born into the freaking mafia, I'd be a total badass?! IDK, I just want to read about super badass Mafia heroines who are forced into marriage, but take control and command respect even as they fall in love

Some tension (enemies to lovers/rivals/opposite mafias, etc;), forced marriage (preferably not kidnapping, set up by parents/mafia instead), a BADASS FMC who doesn't take the MMCs crap (she doesn't have to fight physically, though), an MMC who is like into the fact that she doesn't take his crap and finds himself falling in love. Also, some kind of universe maybe? Like, most of Cara Reily's books and characters carry over which I love and most of the characters in the series are either good friends or siblings which I LOVE! Also humour is great (and it doesn't have to be a comedy, I just like it when the scary mafia dudes try to crack jokes).

Bound By Hatred! by Cora Reilly...I still feel like the FMC could've stood up for herself a bit more, but I loved the enemies to lovers/forced marriage elements, and the MMC was really funny (in a mafia way). There was a lot of chemistry and the FMC was not afraid to fight back...and it also connected to other books in the series which was great!

Radical Candor has been embraced around the world by leaders of every stripe at companies of all sizes. Now a cultural touchstone, the concept has come to be applied to a wide range of human relationships.

The idea is simple:
You don't have to choose between being a pushover and a jerk. Using Radical Candor--avoiding the perils of Obnoxious Aggression, Manipulative Insincerity, and Ruinous Empathy--you can be kind and clear at the same time. Kim Scott was a highly successful leader at Google before decamping to Apple, where she developed and taught a management class. Since the original publication of Radical Candor in 2017, Scott has earned international fame with her vital approach to effective leadership and co-founded the Radical Candor executive education company, which helps companies put the book's philosophy into practice. Radical Candor is about caring personally and challenging directly, about soliciting criticism to improve your leadership and also providing guidance that helps others grow. It focuses on praise but doesn't shy away from criticism--to help you love your work and the people you work with. Radically Candid relationships with team members enable bosses to fulfill their three core responsibilities:
1. Create a culture of Compassionate Candor
2. Build a cohesive team
3. Achieve results collaboratively
Required reading for the most successful organizations, Radical Candor has raised the bar for management practices worldwide.

Author Kim Scott was an executive at Google and then at Apple, where she worked with a team to develop a class on how to be a good boss. She has earned growing fame in recent years with her vital new approach to effective management, Radical Candor.

Radical Candor is a simple idea: to be a good boss, you have to Care Personally at the same time that you Challenge Directly. When you challenge without caring it's obnoxious aggression; when you care without challenging it's ruinous empathy. When you do neither it's manipulative insincerity.

Radical Candor offers a guide to those bewildered or exhausted by management, written for bosses and those who manage bosses. Taken from years of the author's experience, and distilled clearly giving actionable lessons to the reader; it shows managers how to be successful while retaining their humanity, finding meaning in their job, and creating an environment where people both love their work and their colleagues.

Remember when I mentioned deathmatch volleyball as a staple of Zelda games? The final boss at the end of Twilight Princess is Ganon (as it often is at the end of most Zelda games), and you have to fight him in four forms. First, he possesses Princess Zelda (gasp!) and you have to beat her at Volleyball of Doom before he turns into a giant boar thing, which you have to bite to death as a wolf with the help of Midna, your whack-ass fairy. Next, you chase him around the picturesque Hyrule field on your horse with Zelda, whacking him with your sword when she stuns him with Light Arrows. Which is the kind of arrow a you find in the quiver of a princess.

Why the cubus sisters? everything from Phantom Hourglass is extremely easy. Although i loved the gameplay and puzzles, the game posed almost no challenge. What should be up there is Thunderbird from Zelda II, or Moldorm in Link to the Past, or even the third Rocktite from Spirit Tracks (even though Spirit Tracks is only somewhat harder than Phantom Hourglass, this mini boss is extremely frustrating.

Carrie Fisher was a witty memoirist, a sardonic comedian and a blunt interviewee. But most people will remember her as a princess. And with good reason: her Princess Leia in Star Wars will always hold a place in film history as the first kickass princess.

There were princesses before Leia, of course. Written by the likes of Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm and later rewritten by Disney, most were the kind of princesses who cleaned or idled or napped until a prince showed up to save them. But Leia Organa was the first pop-culture princess to take matters into her own hands, to boss up, to tell the male heroes what to do, and, literally, to save the galaxy. For that, she became instantly iconic.

To drive results as a boss is essentially about getting people to achieve more collaboratively than individually on their own. Scott introduces the Get Stuff Done (GSD) wheel which comprises 7 sequential steps to involve your team in decisions and get buy-in for better long-term results: Listen, Clarify, Debate, Decide, Persuade, Execute and Learn. In the book / full book summary, we break down the details for each of these steps and how the whole GSD wheel works.
