About North York Civic Centre:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_York_Civic_Centre

Meeting will start at 7:00 PM sharp, starting off with a 5 minute welcome and introduction - followed by our guest speaker Steve Leitch (http://ca.linkedin.com/in/stephenleitch), one of our original members since the conception of our Network Group.     Steve Leitch is a Certified Management Account with over 30+ years of experience in the field.   Steve was also the 1st presenter in our group since its conception almost a year ago.  He will be presenting a 15 minute lecture on HST, followed by a QA period of 15 minutes.   This will be one of the most important presentations our group will have ever hosted as the HST issue is important to us **ALL** right here in Ontario.    The HST presentation will provide insight on both the consumers point of view and also the business owners point of view.   Steve is extremely informative and probably one of the best experts in his field, always well informed.   I highly recommend you attend this presentation, as it is not only free, but also being held after business hours.

7:30 PM - At random, about 20-30 members will be called to the floor to provide a brief introduction of who they are and what they do.   Please try to limit your introduction to 15-20 seconds maximum!  Time pending, more members may be called to the floor.

8:00 PM - 9:00 PM - Socializing and one-on-one networking will start.   We request that for your safety, you go to the top floor (members lounge)  attached to the council chambers.  Volunteers will guide you to the room.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    IMPORTANT:
We've been facing several limitations and challenges on managing RSVPs on both Meetup and Linkedin and are limited somewhat in terms of sending out announcements.   For this reason it is important that you send a blank email to: linkedintoro...@googlegroups.com -- which will automatically add you to our announcement only mailing list after you've responded to an automatic reply to re-confirm your membership.

SPEAKERS NEEDED:   We try to provide value to all our members.  Each networking event starts off with a presentation from a guest speaker.  Please contact me directly, if you are interested to provide a presentation on a general topic that you believe can benefit the audience.

    VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Slowly but surely, more volunteers are coming on forward and taking roles of management and facilitation.  It is my dream and desire to see this group continue to grow and evolve even without my presence.   I want to convey my gratitude and appreciation once again to the volunteers who have helped make the meetings a possibility during my absence.   To ensure the continued success of this group, I would like to call for volunteers who can contribute 2-3 hours of time in a month.    We need volunteers to assist with facilitation, coordination, registration, attendance, promotion, publicity, photography, articles for our website and other administrative tasks that make an event successful.   If you are interested,  please send an email indicating your interest to:  volu...@linkedintoronto.com

WEBSITE:  Our website will be launched that will contain photos, slides, presentation material, articles from our members and so on.  Content management is always a challenge, but more challenging is producing content.   If anyone wishes to write/contribute - you are encouraged to do so.   We've been running for almost a year now and have been relying heavily on the primary Linkedin website, which has assisted us this far.  But its time to have a more unique presence.

PHONE NUMBER:  Our New Phone Number is 647-367-0878.   Old number (416-477-5777)  has been donated to a Human Rights Canada office.    Please do not contact this number for Linkedin related queries, but do certainly feel free to keep this handy in case you have questions or concerns about Human Rights.

    INVITE YOUR FRIENDS PLEASE!
During the time of writing this, we have:
    a)  958 members on Linkedin Toronto.
    b)  875 members on Google Groups "Linkedin Toronto" group (http://groups.google.com/group/linkedintoronto)
    c)  217 members on Meetup (http://meetup.linkedintoronto.com/)

All I ask is please take the time from your busy schedules to invite just 1 new member to our group.  Believe it or not, it is the power of   'ONE'  that has evolved this group into a synergistic association, currently hosting a combined membership of 1,000+ professionals, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts.

I may personally not be able to attend the meeting this month again, but the volunteers and speakers continue to make this event a success.   I wish you all well and am sure that networking and making new friends who are professionals and entrepreneurs in different walks of life will certainly benefit you.  Feel free to invite a friend, but please ensure they have put their name in the RSVP list.

    Kind regards,
    Reza,
    Founder & Facilitator,
    Toronto Networking Meetings Group.
