This is Reza - your "Toronto Networking Meetings Group" moderator, hosted on Linkedin groups ( http://www.LinkedinToronto.com ) and Google Groups (http://groups.google.com/group/linkedintoronto)

As promised I'm keeping you informed of the tentative networking meeting date on August 5th - Wednesday.   A room has been booked between 6:30PM to 7:30PM at the Mel Lastman North York Civic Centre, but confirmation pending due to Union Worker issues.     Unfortunately confirmation will be provided on the afternoon of the 4th or the morning of the 5th.

I will provide the room number as soon as it has been conveyed to us.   Please note that I have been advised by the North York Civic Centre that there is a possibility our room may not be ready for use, as the Union Workers have just started working and getting the place organized for public use, and other staff members of the Civic Centre may have certain administrative tasks to complete before rooms can be booked for general use once again.

On the unfortunate event the meeting cannot take place on the 5th of August due to Union Worker or administrative catch up issues -- please accept my apologies in advance as the meeting will be rescheduled for August 11th, Tuesday. 

I had given a lot of consideration to have this meeting hosted at other venues - but the location and cost involved was not reasonable as I was going to pitch in for the room rentals.  I want to do this right, provide a reasonably quiet & appropriate environment, projector availability, sufficient lighting, easy access via TTC & parking and something that is reasonably central.   Given the nature of our group and planned activities  I felt a restaurant or pub was not appropriate for our networking meetings.

Other important items:
- I am looking for a volunteer who would like to co-host the meeting with me.
- We need a brave volunteer to give a 15-20 minute talk on an educational topic (Law, Finance, I.T., Medicine etc.) that can benefit the audience.
- If you want to provide a lecture for future meetings, please send me your submission for consideration.
