Lightroom Presets Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)Lightroom Presets
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)#gap-2089520159 padding-top: 26px;What Is Adobe Lightroom?Adobe Lightroom is a photo editing software used by photographers to edit your photos digitally while also allowing photographers to organize their photos quickly and efficiently allowing them to edit more photos in a shorter amount of time. Within the Lightroom software is the preset panel where users can edit photos with custom or saved photography presets.

There are several different versions of Lightroom that require slightly different installation methods to import or load photo Lightroom presets into the relevant version. Each method basically has you installing (importing or copying and pasting) the presets into the application folder or importing directly from inside the Lightroom Presets Panel. A thing to note is that there are slightly different locations depending on the type of computer you are using, but the method is very similar. Links to the install methods for each version of Lightroom are included on our install page linked below.

Using Lightroom presets is very easy and takes just a few minutes to learn and become comfortable in Lightroom and with applying and then customizing the Lightroom presets using the sliders, if needed, to each image. Try each Lightroom preset to see how it changes your image. You can then adjust any of the Lightroom preset sliders that you want to adjust the image further. We have created video tutorials for all of our photo preset collections and they are included on each product page. Please watch several of the tutorials to become comfortable editing your images with the Lightroom presets.

basically the point of this is that currently, Lightroom CC has a bug where it's not "designating" your presets as needing to be in the Mobile version via grouping. I'm guessing eventually they'll fix it... but yeah it's not working for now... so this . well it worked for me.. but it was a headache.

However, there are about 3k presets in the "User Presets" folder stuck. They are not visible on my Mac (not even when going into "Manage Prests"). They are only visible on my iPhone 7 Plus in Lightroom Mobile.

It's great to hear that there are updates coming and things being fixed. Having the ability to sync presets and profiles is huge! I love it. Looking forward to more and better organizational tools though.

I spoke to adobe support and there's no way to do this. I did delete files in the cr_settings folder ( -ecosystem-cloud-based-discussions/how-to-delete-presets-in-...) and that did remove them from Lightroom Desktop (CC) but because they were already uploaded to the web (the repository of truth), the deleted state doesn't sync, and you're stuck with desktop and web/mobile being out of sync.

Not the most elegant way to do it, and you definitely want to test it ahead of time (don't use my numbers as that's for my exact screen). You'll have to do some things like make sure the app/browser window is in the same position, the delays for clicks is correct (the confirm click might need to be delayed by a few extra ms), and for me I had to make sure that I started the macro with the browser window in focus, but after some playing around it worked well enough I set the 'repeat' to 50 and have been just hitting the macro execution key (F4) while I have breaks in working, and have almost deleted all 600+ presets that were duplicated.

As a portrait photographer / model photographer, I was interested to try the Lumix S5 camera with a variety of lenses. I split this article down by lens mount and at the end I share the Lightroom presets for the Lumix S5 camera that I use. All photos in the blog post were shot with the Panasonic Lumix S5 with the featured Lightroom presets applied.

For all my other Lightroom preset packs for Leica cameras I had two B&W and one colour. With the Lumix S5 I seem to be shooting a lot more colour so I had to narrow it down to four LR presets. Two colour, two black and white. This means when you buy the Lightroom Presets for Lumix S5 you get the standard 3 presets + 1 free!

I developed these Lightroom presets to give me photos that I am happy with from the Panasonic Lumix S5 camera despite being a Leica shooter. As many of the Panasonic Lumix S cameras have a similar sensor, say the Lumix S1 for example, these presets should give you a great starting point for any Lumix S camera.

Please note I also have Panasonic Lumix GH5 presets available as I used the Lumix GH5 before getting the full frame Lumix S5. Write to me if you would like them made available to download too.

I've done some research but haven't found a definitive yes or no answer on whether this is possible or not. I've also seen some preset packs sold as "Stackable Presets" but haven't figured out how to do so with my personal presets.

One of the hottest topics in the photography industry today is Lightroom presets. What are they? Are they worth it? Will they really help you to create images you love? Today I want to debunk common myths surrounding Lightroom presets, and help you see how they could help you in your photography business!

Hi David, Loving the new shorter videos on specific topics in light room to help with workflow. Had not realised that you could do presets with the new masking tool. Looking forward to what else is in the pipeline. Thanks so much

I was hoping to get some feedback on this topic, and if anyone has a great preset (or multiple presets) that they want to share, I'd love to try some out. David Farkas used to publish presets for older cameras, but I have not seen one for Q3. He did mention using M11 presets, but I'm not sure that the colors from the Q3 sensor are similar enough to justify that.

Found this post re Lightroom Presets, not the answer you want and a one shot deal re settings but not many other options I'm afraid: -to-create-luts-from-lightroom-presets-to-use-in-affinity-davinci-resolve-photoshop/

While I recommend everyone customizing the console to their specific needs, if you want a baseline to start from built off my workflow above, you can download my presets here. Enjoy and pass on the knowledge.

When you sit down to hammer out an editing session, the last thing you want is to have to tidy up and make more space on your computer, organize your Library in Lightroom, or sort through your presets.

Don't do this. We've gotta keep Lightroom easy for you to use and we don't want your L&A presets getting lost in the mix. So below is a screenshot of what you DON'T want to do. Don't import presets into your "User Presets" folder.

You're finished! You'll see all of your presets for the Light & Airy Preset Suite neatly placed in Lightroom so you can get started on editing and stay focused without any extra clutter!

These presets are the best I have ever used! They are easy to use even for those who are just starting out in photography and they completely transform the photo into the most beautiful tones. I will definitely buy more in the future!

I have been working with your presets for several weeks (TVP) and the truth is that they are excellent, they have changed the way I work. Now everything is much easier and faster and most with just one click.
I really like the atmosphere and the special touch they give to my photos.
I Love them
Thank you very much and greetings.

But none of that would be helpful. There are some real benefits to using Lightroom presets over a simple Instagram filter. But there are also times when an IG filter may be a better solution (yes, I know other photographers are going to hate me for saying that).

On the other hand, the infinite adjustability of Lightroom presets make them unique from any Instagram filter. You can easily put your own spin on top of any preset and create a variant that is uniquely yours.

Lightroom is a powerful photo editing program. It allows you to have just about complete control over the look of your images. It also allows you to create a well exposed and clean base edit. From that base edit, you can apply your favorite presets with much more confidence that they are going to look consistent from image to image.
