Dear groupmates
I am a very beginner in using the Linkage Mapper.
During my initial trials, I got several errors, which did not let the Linkage Mapper works up to its end well.

So, I do appreciate it if you might write me how I would be able to solve them one by one, as i am very eager to run the linkage Mapper with my own data.

The first error message has been appeared on the error message repot is as follows:

Failed to execute gp.SingleOutputMapAlgebra_sa("combine(" + alloc + ", " + alloc_sh + ")", combine_ras) on try #1.

The following ArcGIS error is being reported on line line 520 of "C:\Users\Amiri\Desktop\Linkage_Mapper_2_0_0\toolbox\scripts\lm_util.py":

ERROR 010069: Unable to open input raster(s).

ERROR 010067: Error in executing grid expression.

Failed to execute (SingleOutputMapAlgebra).

Thank you very much for your advise and guidance about it in advance.

Kind Regards

Bahman

Hi Bahman,

Are you getting this error in trying to run Linkage Mapper with the Demo Data and the Tutorial, or with your Data?

Can you please send the full error log, ether as a text file or pasted into the body of the message?

(It is in the run_history/log folder.)

Thank you,

John

Thanks Bahman.

It is having problems opening your resistance raster.  There may be a "schema lock" on it.  This occurs when it is open in another program, and sometimes stays on even if the layer is closed in that program if if it is ArcCat or ArcMap.  The best way to troubleshoot that error is to reboot your computer and try again.  The second best way is to close all Arc products and Windows explorer, and try again.

If that does nt work, then it is time to start error checking the raster itself (i.e. see previous posts on that topic, and ask from there.)

Please let me know how the reboot works.

Thnask,

JOhn

Hello John
At first, I would like to thank you for your comments for solving the errors for my initial trial with the LM.
As you wrote, the main problem is related to the way I saved the resistance map. Having saved the resistance map in IMAGINE extension, the problems are solved and the LM came to the end.

However, I should noted that we have done it using Python code, which is written by one of my colleague, to run the LM because we have faced an unorganized contents of the LM's window. Attached, please find a screenshot of the LM's window.

Anyway, at the present we could do the stuffs, which are related to the LM.

Thanks and Regards
Bahman

Hello Bahman,

Congratulations on working through the error!

Next time I am looking at the User guide I'll try to remember to make sure that the resistance file type is specified.  (It is all written in an Esri-centric perspective and assumptions...)

Also, regarding the LM Window, I remember seeing this once many years ago on one of my machine set-ups.  If you press "Yes" then it shoudl work ok.

But, it would be nice if that never popped up.  I have filed an issue in our development space: https://github.com/linkagescape/linkage-mapper/issues/82

If you want to go there and detail what version of Windows, ArcGIS and Linkage Mapper you are using that would be grea. Or e-mail me directly and I'll paste it there.

Thank you!

John
