Hello,

I am new to LinkageMapper, and am trying to perform a simple analysis as a test-run (just connecting two core area polygons.) I am using files that my graduate advisor gave me, and that he has successfully run in older versions of LinkageMapper and ArcCatalog.

I am currently running LinkageMapper version 2.0.0 in ArcCatalog version 10.7.1 (also tried in ArcMap). I am using steps 1, 2, 3, and 5 in the 'Build Network and Map Linkages' tool.

Below is a screenshot of the error message I have been getting in both ArcMap and ArcCatalog. I have shortened the directory/removed unusual characters, as has been suggested in other threads, but I'm still getting this Step 3 error.

[The only other thing I can think of that could be causing problems is that I am running ArcGIS through a virtual Windows desktop on my Mac. This hasn't given me issues in the past, though.]

Is there anything else I should try? Thanks!

Hi Caitlin,

This reminds me of a bug I encountered once that I thought was fixed.  It was when there is only one link on the landscape and some other characteristics were also present in the environment settings.

My first thought is to make a test "cores" file that has more than 2 cores, something like 5 or more to be sure and still be really quick.

Or maybe it is something with the data storage over the years. Maybe try it with the sample data that comes with the download. In fact, yeah, I'd try that first.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Thank you - so far so good with the sample data. I have made it past the Linkage Mapper part! I am now onto using Pinchpoint Mapper, but getting an error that says "Cannot find an installation of Circuitscape in your program files directory."

I have downloaded the Circuitscape toolbox, unzipped the files, and added the toolbox into ArcMap. Is there something that I missed in the installation here?

Thank you again for your help!

Best,
Caitlin

Ah, disregard that - I figured it out. ArcMap wasn't able to find the latest 64-bit version of Circuitscape on my computer for some reason, but it was able to find an older version, so I used that instead! Thank you again for your help!!
