Allow me to inform you of the monthly update for the Thai Link Grammar.

1. Thai Link Grammar now accepts POS-tagged and named-entity-tagged inputs.
Each word can be annotated with the Link POS tag. For example:

2. Moreover, it also accepts the LST20 tagset for POS and named entities to
bridge the gap between fundamental NLP tools and the Link Parser. For
example:

3. I am giving an online talk regarding Thai Link Grammar at Research
Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia, Mahidol University. There are
two sessions: Thai and English.

- The Thai session will be on the 21st of this month. In the first half
of the talk, I’ll elaborate the Thai Link parser and how it will leverage
modern NLP applications; e.g., machine translation and question answering.
In the second half, I’ll focus on the linguistic part of Thai Link Grammar
and discuss the remaining problems.
- Another English session will be held shortly afterwards. In that
session, I’ll focus more on how to develop a Link Grammar for low-resourced
languages and languages of ethnic minorities. I’ll also share my own
experience on how to speed up the grammar development with linguistic
insights.
- Both sessions are designed to bridge the gap between the ML-dominated
NLP community and the linguistic community.


I'm asking the organizers to make both video records public. I'll keep you
guys update on this.
