Hi all,
I just posted three photos, but would prefer to remove two because
they aren't as easy to read. I just don't know how to delete them. All
three depict signs that say "Entering Isabella Indiana Reservation."
The location of these signs is more significant that what they say, as
the borders that they mark are not the borders of the current
reservation, but of the historical reservation which the Saginaw
Chippewa tribe claims was stolen. The signs now occur within the city
limits of Mt Pleasant, MI. I've found some archival material on this
situation as well as some current material as the tribe is requesting
a return of the historical lands in court. I'd appreciate any comments
or questions from you all. Does anyone know of similar situations in
the United States or anywhere else? Thanks, Beth Lewis Samuelson
