Dear LL community,

Luk van Mensel and I are currently in the process of planning a work-shop on LL as part of the 12th International Conference on Minority Languages (ICML XII) which will be held in Tartu (Estonia) on May 28-30 next year (http://www.icml.ut.ee/). Focus of the work-shop would, obviously, be the role that the LL method can play for the analysis of regional and minority languages (the ICML conference series focuses on autochthonous minorities, but papers on other language situations would also be welcome). Luk will contribute with his research on the German-speaking part of Belgium, whereas I am planning to focus on results from my research in the Baltics with regard to the role of the regional language of Latgalian.

We have been in contact with several researchers (some of them are, of course, among you) about a contribution to the event. For an enriching work-shop, however, it would be good to receive a few more contributions. Therefore we would like to invite you to join us in our work-shop - for discussing LL from a different perspective, in a different setting, and for further spreading the information about the LL method!

In case that you feel that your research would match our work-shop topic and that you are interested in a participation - please be so kind as to send us a title and a very brief abstract of your possible paper as soon as possible (luk.vanmensel AT fundp.ac.be and heiko.marten AT ru.lv)!

Best wishes from Latvia

Heiko
