tools working?

Hi everybody,

I hope everyone is okay.

Although I have used SALAt tools and Coh-metrix before, I cannot make any of them work now! I am useless in computing so I might be doing certain things wrong for sure. I'd like to go on with some text analysis research but I am lost at the moment. Any suggestions from the group?

Hi Aylin, 

I recently accessed Coh-Metrix for the first time. I was able to get everything setup to run the program; however, I was never successful in processing any of my texts. The system seemed to continue to iterate through the same document for several hours. I finally gave up trying, so I appreciate your timely inquiry here. Also, I'd value the input of others about how they have actually gotten the program to run.

Just to note that Coh-Metrix is not related to SALAT except historically and Coh-Metrix is not supported by linguisticanalysistools.org

Hi Scott,

I have changed from Mac to PC just to be able to use free/shareware more easily (with no avail in SALAT case though!) :D

It's HP laptop Microsoft...

Hi Aylin,

I am not sure what the problem is and cannot help from a distance, but the tools very recently worked on a Windows machine (about a week ago). I am sure you have checked all the software requirements including javascript.

I am trying! Simple download and install does not work on my Windows laptop. A friend who was able to use the tools using Phyton said he would help. Still waiting though!
