Hi All,
I am having some difficulty interpreting eat_types generated by TAALES. I understand from Kyle et al. (2018) this index measures the number of word types freely associated with other words, and so a word with a larger value can be said to be less contextually distinct and potentially less sophisticated. But interestingly, association word types (assuming this is the same index) was found to be a positive predictor (r = .241) for word choice scores (according to Table 5). That is a bit counter-intuitive so I wonder if anyone has any explanation about it. Thanks so much in advance.
