Good morning amazing Team!

Is there a best practices guide when using SEANCE?  Do you recommend running the whole text file, or cleaning it up to remove punctuation, normalizing text, or removing stop words before running SEANCE?  One last one, do you have any recommendations on what statistical test to compare the SEANCE scores with demographics?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Jason,

SEANCE will remove punctuation and normalize by text length. Stop words should not be a problem (and, potentially, some are included in the indices calculated).

For demographics, if you have data, I would suggest linear mixed effects models.

Good luck!

Scott
