mac and taassc

Hi,

I hope all the linguists in this list have made a good start to the New Year!

I have two problems:

1. My Mac does not open TAASSC saying it cannot verify that the program is virus free so it cannot open it. Move to the bin... What do we do in this case?

2. As far as I remember, there were composite scores of syntactic complexity in TAASC but was there a single overall syntactic complexity index, like a readability score? If there isn't, which indices are advised for more general estimates of text complexity in TAASSC?
