The USB host port can be used to upgrade the printer's firmware of the printer using a standard USB flash drive. In this case only a valid .FMW firmware package may be stored in the drive, with no other files. Connect the USB flash drive and follow the instructions on the front panel.
If it is not possible to perform a firmware upgrade using normal procedures (for instance, the printer has a System Error and the Embedded Web Server is inaccessible), it is still possible to perform a firmware upgrade in two different ways: start the printer in diagnostics mode and send a PLT file by FTP, or use a USB flash drive.
Open an FTP session from a computer connected to the same network as the printer, and send the PLT firmware file to the printer. If you don't have the PLT file, please escalate using the normal escalation mode.
does anyone have any advice to see what i can drag out of linux console to see if there are logs to see why. i have looked at purchased sophos xg105 or the newer xgs87 but thats dropping 500 to 1000 on tin and subscription which is a little ouch at this time. home edition on sophos hardware is my final goal replacing the hp t730.
We experiencing differences between BLAST and PCoIP on that. So BLAST is a lot slower and has more display issues like fragments and things like that, but maybe we need to customize the values. But PCoIP on the HP t730 works as well as the former Teradici (FujitsuL620) did and as bonus there no disconnects until now, only one short Black Screen without a disconnect, so maybe this HP t730 will be our next client to replace the teradici. Forgot to mention that the t730 has graphics unit that should be used for H.264 offloading but I am unable to check if this really works.
I'm just not sold on thinos, as we used this in the past and many reboots that was needed to get base firmware, then the view client. Plus they had to reboot to download to see the ftp server. It didn't seem as clean as the old teradici MC, where it would download in the background and then reboot when it was needed. I guess it good to know that Blast isn't ready yet. Just would not want to recommend to buy a signaficant number of thin clients and find out 3 or 4 years later we chose badly because the product didn't add feature X and we need to replace them as we did in the past.
This article covers hardware that is supported by ThinManager Packages 5 and later. ThinManager Ready thin clients have the ACP BIOS pre-loaded onto the device and can download firmware directly from ThinManager after the ThinManager Server IP(s) are specified.
