THis has been doing rounds since quite a few days. Just waited to get
it validated.

Amit, how did I miss this news?
Did the power increase happen simply because of cleaner fuel without
any change in the car or was there some parts changed or only a more
aggressive ECU remap, which was done for the cleaner fuel. I don't
think that FIAT can manage to make internal changes to the drivetrain.
If it is indeed ECU remap, existing Lineas should be able to get it
done easily. All we need to do is to read the ECU map from a new Linea
and write to the old Linea ECU (to be done by the remap shops). I'm
ruling out that FIAT will do it for us.

Its not only you but people at mass would have missed it. Reason being
Fiat. Fiat refuses to do aggressive marketing even for something they
offer - this is a whopping ioncrease of almost 7 BHP, not negligible,
is it? Fiat has not officially published a word on this !!!
On the other hand there is Tata who talks about some DriveTech4
technology (for BS IV), Maruti sings Blue Eyed Boy, Maruti talks about
K-series engine, Polo shows GC ads with Ostrich & all that.
I guess, this BHP increase is due to remapping to convert to BS IV
compliant. Have you seen the ARAI certified FE figures on Fiat
website? FE is also increased bby 3 kmpl to some 19.9 kmpl now for BS
IV comliant MJD Linea. Again not a single word from Fiat.
Is 3 kmpl increase in FE low?
Fiat is just sleeping...nothing else can explain all these.
