Admiration Guaranteed !!!

Yesterday my daughter went for birthday celebration of a Kid in our
Society. The kid's young aunt asked her several questions:

Kid's aunt: That Red car is your father's, right?

My Daughter: Yes

Kid's aunt: Which car is it?

My Daughter: Linea

Kid's Aunt: Awsome car......XX###XX

My Daughter: Thanks (with a big smile )

2 things I derive out of this & similar instances:

1. Admiration Guaranteed !! Linea surely turns heads even if you do
not know anything about the car. Its an ageless timeless design which
I think will never look dated even after 5 years

2. People still do not know that this gorgeous car is called Linea &
its from Fiat's stable. Nope, Fiat has still not reached to the mass
in turms of mind-share

Though the mass volume is not happening, inspite of the low prices for the value of features offered compared to other vehicles. I still derive that extra satisfaction when people ask me what this beauty is called. And makes one feel a little more exclusive rather than the faceless multitude of ANHC which we see on the roads. It so happened a couple of days ago, I was driving out of my house, and into the road, when exactly on the opposite side was another FTA Fiat Linea petrol, It was also owner driven and we exchanged knowing looks when we saw each others cars. It feels WOW to have this Italian beauty.

But these days there are quite a few Lineas seen on the road
especailly on the eastern express in Mumbai. Earlier these "LINEA
SIGHTINGS" were rare but now it is extremely pleasing to see other
lineas driving with you. Seems slowly people are gaining confidence or
is it the irrestible beauty tthat is drawing the crowd

Happened with me too. Recently I had gone to Trivandrum on official
work and had taken my car along. My car used to be parked near my
official accommodation. One day during a morning briefing, when I was
expected to do the explanatory thingy, the head honcho asked: Whose
Linea is that? I understood he was asking about mine as there was none
other. I told him it was mine and then he was gushing about how good
and majestic the car looks. He had me explain the complete buying
procedure from CSD. The session which was supposed to be a serious
operations oriented one, turned into a car buying lesson. Since head
honcho showed interest, that afternoon I had many minions coming to
take a look at this 'fantastic car'. Such is the grace of this beauty.

I am also seeing plenty of Linea on the Thrissur roads now days. When
I bought it in April 09, there was only my car in that road and
everyone used to point at my car when it passed by. But now the
Lineas have increased on the roads and everytime when I go to town I
see 3/4 lineas coming from opposite direction. So whenever I see
another Linean coming from opposite direction, I flash my headlights
so as to compliment him. Some of them reciprocate the same way and
some dont understand what for it it?
But as mentione about, this car is truly a piece of Admiration even
now after 1.1/2 years of launch.
Last time while travelling I got a passenger beside me who was also
going to cochin and we were discussing about different topics and cars
came in our topic. He asked me if I owned one and I replied I have a
Linea. So I was surprised and more over shocked to learn when he asked
me if it is an imported model. I said it is Fiat Linea launced in jan
09 and he was asking me the details of Linea. After I finished
explaining, he said he has just booked a Dzire and didnt even know
about this car. If I knew that a car with so many features existed and
available at such a reasonable price I would have gone for it. He said
he has never seen the car before. I told him my car would be coming to
airport to pick me and you can see for yourself. After coming out of
the airport, we were waiting for the driver to bring the car. I was
looking the other side when this guy called me and pointing to an
oncoming car said, "That's a beautiful car, Jk". And in fact that was
my Vocal white Linea. I smiled and told him, that's the one I was
talking to you about. He was just dumb founded and his jaws dropped to
the floor. I couldnt see any expression on his face, he was so
mesmerised seeing my Linea gleaming and shining in the 100s of sodium
vapour lamps outside the airport. I broke the silence and asked him,
so what do you say? He said I really dont have any words and cant
believe that this car is under 10 lac price tag. She is dyanamite, I
m going to cancel my Dzire and try to get this one even if I dont get
my booking amount. I offered him a lift as his house was on the way,
but he said his family would be coming with a taxi to pick him.
