Hello everyone.....this spring has been very busy - while today feels
like summer!

Two weeks ago I volunteered to create a painting of the Eastern Red
Columbine at the Williamsburg Botanical Garden for their first annual
"Vines and Wine" Garden Party. For those who live far away.....this
was featured in our local newspaper, the Virginia Gazette, this
Saturday. Last week a wonderful photo taken by one of the garden's
members while I drew from life and was featured again......it is
posted at My Flickr site.

I have been invited to exhibit my Blackthroated Hummingbird painting
in a invitational exhibition at The Charles H. Taylor Art Center in
Hampton, Virginia starting May 22nd. The exhibit will feature all
watermedia by more than 60 artists from the Hampton Roads area.

Last week I held my third Botanical Art and Illustration workshop at
The Elizabethan Gardens. The workshop was attended by eight wonderful
artists - whose experience ranged from "I have never taken an art
class before" , to two artists who get together every Thursday to
paint. There were three island ladies, three from just outside of
Greenville, North Carolina, one from Virginia Beach and one.....from
Jacksonville, Florida - a place where I lived and worked for two years
while with AT&T. Pictures are posted at my Art Instruction link.

And...one more field day at Waller Mill Park for the Art in Park
workshop. We had a great day yesterday.....outside for six hours!
This workshop will be offered again in the fall.

All for now.....kindest regards, Linda
