LFC Announcements:
1.) Saturday Open Fencing will now begin at 9:00 a.m.—come join the fun early!
2.) Wacky Wednesdays start on Feb. 13th (Foil) followed by Épée on Feb. 20, and Saber on Feb. 27. The tournaments will start promptly at 7:00 p.m., so be there on time. Entry fees will be $5 or $2 and a can of food to donate to the mission next door. The fencers must be competitive USA Fencing members to compete. Memberships can be upgraded from Noncompetitive to Competitive at the USA Fencing site: http://www.usfencing.org/page/show/698115-individuals. These tournaments provide a great way to get a rating and get some competition experience under your belt. Épée ought to be A rated, foil ought to be B rated, and saber ought to be C rated unless we can find another saber B.
3.) LFC warm-ups are available for purchase! Size samples are at the club. Please have your LFC uniform order and payment in by February 15. (Kit will be contacting you if you haven't paid yet.)
4.) Thank you to all that purchased fencing equipment; we will have another equipment shipment coming in April that will be available at the Youth Classic Tournament.
5.) The Icicle Tournament was a great success! Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and congrats to LFC Fencers: Mixed Epee - Cassidy Kovanda -1st place, Eric Gonzalez - 2nd place, Brad Tucker - 3rd place. Mixed Foil - Fitzgerald Tsen - 1st place, Eric Gonzalez - 2nd place. Mixed Saber - Eric Gonzalez - 2nd place, Alex Bucevicius - 3rd place, Josh Bush - 3rd place. Women's Epee - Kelsea Brunner - 3rd place. Women's Foil - Sara Pitz - 2nd place. Women's Saber - Andrea Wiggins - 3rd place. And many more LFC fencers placed in the top 8 or did their personal best.
