Dear Linbro,
Pikitup has noted some issues in Linbro:
1. Please could residents NOT burn their garden waste the landfill accepts this for free. The problem with burning waste is you often have some plastic in the waste. Burning plastic releases carcinogenic dioxins. If you notice a neighbour burning waste, please ask them nicely to stop and explain they are causing a cancer for themselves and the community.
2. With all the building going on, please can everyone avoid clogging up the wetlands in Linbro. Remember, Linbro is a sponge that collects water for the Modderfontein river system and therefore many areas in Linbro are seasonal wetlands. Please keep these free to do their job of collecting water!
PS If any of you are clever enough: please put this email out as a whatsapp to reach more residents?! All you young and computer savvy people, please!
