Dear John
First, the good news; The Energy Expert Coalition team recently celebrated a victory against Eskom's overcharging and recovered R1.5m for a single client. During this case we uncovered a flawed methodology which has resulted in electricity consumers and municipalities being heavily overcharged by Eskom. As a result, we are currently taking further action to recover funds for all consumers.
Now for the not so good news; Eskom has applied for a further substantial increase in tariffs to recover their shortfall in sales projections. According to the law, the National Energy Regulator (NERSA) must ask for input from the public before granting any increase - which is where you John play an important role.
We've made it easy to have your say through a portal on our website which keeps a record of all public participation and is linked directly to NERSA's official channel. By using this portal, you will enable us to form the foundation of a legal case should our public report contradict the tariff increase decision.
John we do not have much time to send comments or suggestions as the closing date is 30 November so please click the green button below to have your say now. As an extra measure, I will personally deliver your comment along with thousands more at the upcoming public hearings.
My team and I thank you for your time.
Power to the people.
