LIMUSA mourns the passing away of Comrade Cedric
The Liberated Metalworkers Union of South Africa (LIMUSA) mourns the passing away of its former General Secretary and a founder member. Cde Cedric Sabelo Gina died in the early hours of this morning in Addington Hospital in Durban after a short illness.
Cde Cedric as he was affectionately known was a central figure in the formation of LIMUSA along side with the likes of cde Sifiso Maphumulo. Cde Cedric has dedicated most of his life to the working class struggle and labour movement in particular. In was 1993 when was first elected a Shopsteward and since then served in various structures of the union. In 2008 he was elected President of NUMSA a position he held until 2013 when he resigned.
Cde Cedric was a embodiment of the our alliance as was active and served a structures of the SACP and the ANC. He was passionate about reading and writing on political and labour matters
We acknowledge that his contribution in building LIMUSA is insurmountable and as such we shall forever be indebted.
We would like to convey our sincere condolences to the Gina Family and we would like to thank them to borrowing us such a principled and disciple cadre.
We shall update the public on funeral arrangements after meeting the family.
