I upgraded my Servers in 3 Plants and now my System Auditor is not updating. I forgot the on the initial setup we went to the Plants and loaded files In the Servers.

What files do I need to reinstall and where do I get them? I run historians on 2 AW’s with Win 2008 and the 3rd AW has the ICC. In the Task manager of that one is slow/fast & commit collect tasks. My historians are not updating along with the graphics.

Where can I find a manual on this setup? Any help would be appreciated. Ken Flood

Ken,

On your Foxray server, look for the directory \\Program Files\Limeware\Foxray\<networkname>_files. In it, there's a folder for each of the AWs in your network. Simply copy the contents of the proper folder to /opt/foxray on each of your AWs.

On each AW, there should be several scripts: foxray_boot.bat, fast_collect.bat, and slow collect.bat. They all should be scheduled through the Task Scheduler.

The AW that serves as the CSA server should have an additional script, commit_collect.bat. It also should be scheduled in the Task Scheduler.

Make sure each of the new servers can ping/ftp the Foxray server. And you're set!

(Feel free to substitute "System Auditor" wherever I said Foxray. Old habits die hard, especially when one is reluctant to let go of said habits.)

Duc,

Again from memory…  I believe that is the Help manual which offers a lot of help with operating Foxray.  But for these types of issues I find the original Installation Manual more informative.  I will send it off list just in case…

Joe, you may be totally correct. I just know the usual manuals are there, but I haven't had to use them in a while.

Also, a clarification. I mentioned the script "foxray_boot.bat." That's not correct. The script name is IAdmin_boot.bat. I named my task "foxray_boot" and I was a bit confused between the names. Sorry. (That's what I get for going by memory instead of looking things up.)

Ken,

From memory…  Don’t forget to add the Foxray Server name and IP address to each of the AW hosts files; you have to be able to ping by name.  And don’t you have to run one of the checkpoint batch files depending on the Control Configurator?

I will send you the Foxray Installation Manual off list.  It will help you with trouble shooting and recommended timing of the Scheduled Tasks and who knows what else you will run into…

Most of the time the most common mistakes when upgrading are:

- Make sure the scheduled tasks are pointing to the correct folder (if upgraded using a different folder)
- You copy the Network folder to the new install folder
- Make sure you open the ServerConfiguration.exe tool and change the Install PAth to the new folder

Of course nothing this applies if you installed the System Auditor in the Existing Foxray folder.

In this case the issue must be something totally different

Please advise

Thanks

Ricardo,

I believe Ken upgraded the AW's not the System Auditor server.

Ah ok, sorry.

In this case normaly the things to check:

- Foxray server can be reach by name (make sure the hosts file is correct and the IP address is correct)
- Any firewalls in between that must be open is the path betwen those 2 got changed?
- Check the scheduled tasks to make sure it is up and running
- force IAdmin_boot.bat (as mention by Duc and Joe) to reset the collectors

Thanks
