SQL gurus,

I need help in crafting some SQL directives to completely clear data from a couple of no-longer-needed networks out of the Foxray/System Auditor database. Is it possible?

Background: In setting up our Foxray installation, in addition to the real live-system network that encompasses the plant-wide I/A system, we also set up a couple of additional networks to keep data from our two SimSci-Esscor FSim systems in Foxray. Making a long story short, I need to clear out data from those two additional FSim networks.

The collector AWs for those two networks are shut down, so they no longer report data to the Foxray server. But, of course, data from them are still in the database. I need to get rid of those old data.

The current content of my ...\LimeWare\foxray\BIN\foxray.db file:

DBS=ctonfs01
DBS=ctonfs02
DBS=ctonia01

The two networks to be deleted are ctonfs01 and ctonfs02. Help, anyone?

Thanks!

Duc

Thanks, Ricardo. That sounds easy enough.

I thought the file foxray.db must have something to do with the presentation of data for the different network, but I learned that just removing the network name from that file doesn't remove the data. :-)

Hi Duc,

Do this:

  • Remove the entries manually from foxray.db
  • Then use the Server Configuration.exe tool and then DELETE the networks you want using this tool (I believe in the network tab).

This should completely remove the networks (be careful since this is irreversible if you have no backup)

Thanks

Ricardo
