I'm new to IRC chatting in general. I'm on a Mac and hence use LimeChat. My friend made a mobile game for android that piggybacks off of an IRC channel for ingame chat. I want to be able to access and participate in this chat while on my Laptop (MacBook Pro) and want to know how I might accomplish that. I have the channel it uses (irc.example.com/biz etc.) and can join it (It says "username has joined" and "username has changed mode: +sn").However, whenever I type something to communicate it simply says "Error(421): Unknown Command". Could someone help me with this?

Have you actually joined the relevant channel ? That snippet looks like a truncated Welcome page for an IRC  server, one that doesn't have a proper MOTD (message of the day) file present - it says "MOTD File Is Missing".

It isn't enough just to join the IRC server.  Once logged into the chat server you then also need  to join a relevant channel with  a particular name
The command will be something like   /join  #somechannel        the command alias  /j   will  normally work as well e.g.  /j  #somechannel

IRC channel names always have  a prefix  #      it's a legacy of the fact that in the earliest versions of IRC back around 1989 channels only had numeric names like #42

It probably doesn't have a MOTD because the actual IRC channel isn't really used. They just use the one in the app. When I join with the "#" it says that I have "changed mode: +sn"
