help!

I recently downloaded Limechat.  I can't make head or tail of it.  Is there a tutorial somewhere?  I want to chat with my son who is at college.  He uses pigin, but that's not in the apple store.

If you don't know ANYTHING about what you're doing, you're going to have some trouble. Why not use something like Skype?

Does he use Pidgin for IM or for IRC? Limechat is an IRC app. iChat or
Adium is what you want for IM.

Hello!

IRC (=Internet Relay Chat) was very popular chat system/protocol in the earlier days of the Internet. It still has lots of users. If you are really interested in what its all about, Wikipedia will help you.

Pidgin is a IM (=Instant Messaging) client for many chat systems. If you want to chat with somebody you have to find out which protocol/services (like ICQ, Jabber and many more) she is using. I think the easiest way will be to call your sun and let him explain what you should do. If he actually is using IRC with pidgin, you need to know which server he's using. If he doesn't, limechat is the wrong app for you.
