LimeBits editor criteria

Nischay,

Here are some criteria on which we'll evaluate editor software, for integration into LimeBits.
  • open-source and redistributable
  • implemented in javascript
  • doesn't require particular backend code / can be adapted for WebDAV backend
  • compact (<200K?)
  • handles large files
  • reasonably fast on keystrokes and other functions, even on large files
  • syntax highlighting for javascript, css, html, markdown
  • works on all LimeBits-supported browsers
  • stylable
  • has wysiwyg as well as source-code editing?
  • has active support community?
  • desirable features: code completion, validation, indenting, line numbering, search/replace, auto-indent-region
