Here are some criteria on which we'll evaluate editor software, for integration into LimeBits.
open-source and redistributable
implemented in javascript
doesn't require particular backend code / can be adapted for WebDAV backend
compact (<200K?)
handles large files
reasonably fast on keystrokes and other functions, even on large files
syntax highlighting for javascript, css, html, markdown
works on all LimeBits-supported browsers
stylable
has wysiwyg as well as source-code editing?
has active support community?
desirable features: code completion, validation, indenting, line numbering, search/replace, auto-indent-region
