Hi!

Just tried Limbomedia - and crashed into a problem right from start:

The folder sync will crash if there is a non-readable folder in your tree. This can happen pretty easily - especially if you try to access a networked folder where there might be parts created by another user and therefor unreadable.

For now the folder sync crashes with e.g. the following message:

java.nio.file.AccessDeniedException: /media/sound/.Trash-1000.

Can it be done that the folder sync will just ignore such folders? Perhaps by catching that exception and just going on to the next folder?

Thanks
Lukas

Hi,

thanks for your request and maybe bug report. Can you provide some more information about that issue and especially your setup like limbomedia version, os, specials in folder structure, maybe filesystem? It sounds like you're using some kind of network shares (samba?) mounted in your file system.

I ask because LimboMedia should do exactly what you expect: Non-readable folders and non-accessible folders are simply skipped in folder scan/sync. This dicision is based on the file/folder access attributes the filesystem gives us and has been tested on windows and linux filesystems, so i assume some kind of edge case where file permissions cannot be read correctly.

Thanks
Thomas
