Hi everyone,
The time has come for the second
AFK meeting of the community! Make sure to join us at the
CUTing edge space next
Thursday, August 7th, at 19:00!
In this meeting meeting we 'll start forming hacking teams so that we can get started working on projects.
Firstly I'd like to emphasize (once again) that this will
*not* be just for techies and computer geeks. The hackerspace aims to get people working on projects that are as multi-disciplinary as possible. You may be working on a project that has nothing to do with coding or engineering. Or one that involves programming, robotics and pottery at the same time. The only thing you need is creativity! Furthermore, you don't even need to have a project started (or even an idea of a project you want to work on!). There will be some serious brainstorming going on there, so you might as well find an idea and team mates for a project there. Here are some projects that might be of interest:
1. A team will be working on creating the perfect recipe for the "Limassol Hackburger". This will be the signature burger of the hackerspace - which could be sold in fund-raising events! It will, of course, be open source...
2. Creating a system and database what will keep a detailed list of all equipment and materials available to the community for projects (as suggested by George
here)
3. Building the first 3D printer of the hackerspace
4. Brewing the Limassol Hackerspace beer. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we 're going to make it in time for the Limassol Beer Festival...
5. The pop-up/portable drive-in cinema kit project (listed in the
wiki)
The meeting will also be a good chance for people who didn't make it to the first AFK to catch up.
