Hi,

Can someone from Lily Project/NGData comment on the following questions:
1. Is Lily still an Apache open source project?
2. Is Lily 3.0 available as an open source project/download?

The reason I ask is because the last download available from lilyproject.org is lily-2.4 which was release a year and a half ago.

NGData.com has an article about lily 3.0 release but I can't find the download anywhere.

Many thanks
Prashant

Hi Prashant,

Lily 2.X - the data repository - is indeed still available as an open source project under the Apache license. New releases are made available based on customer requests.

Lily 3 - the customer analytics & experience management platform - is available from NGDATA as a commercial offering. Let us know what your project is about and we can help you further.

Kind regards,

Steven.

Hi Steven,

Many thanks for the quick response.

My primary question is around dependencies like Solr and CDH.

We are currently using lily 2.0/Solr 4.0/CDH 4.1

We are running into some heavy memory usage issues by Solr on our production servers. The solr team is advising us to upgrade to a newer version of Solr, like Solr 4.9.

Also, it is apparently impossible to install an older version of CDH like CDH 4.1. If you use something like a cloudera manager to install CDH, it always installs the latest version like 4.7.

I don't think that it is possible to move to newer versions of Solr/CDH without lily first releasing support for them.

The last publicly available lily release is lily-2.4. This supports solr 4.0 and CDH 4.2. This is the reason I'm looking for a newer lily release which supports a newer version of Solr and CDH.

Thanks
Prashant
