Accordingly, revellers at the Rainbow Towers were treated to an energetic, thought provoking and ghetto-centric performance. There was a cocktail of artistic and musical performance from Winky D and other artists he collaborated with on his Eureka Eureka album. They included eye-catching and entertaining collaborative performances with Tocky Vibes, Holy Ten, Shingai and others. The audience was treated to a high octane musical fiesta and as such there was infectious resonance between Winky D and his audience as evidenced by the two-way musical communication between Winky D and his legion of his fans that convincingly resulted in contagious and voluntary singalongs by the audience and the turning of Rainbow towers auditorium into a sea of white lights from the cell-phone torch lights of the fans.
However, by the first day of the New Year, the Eureka Eureka album had ignited a very fiery and polarising debate among the various sections of the Zimbabwean public. That is, they emerged two diametrically opposed camps , who had competing and contradicting opinions and views on the lyrics of some of the songs. On one end of the musical spectrum were sections of Zimbabweans who fully embraced the politically charged and thought provoking songs and performances of Winky D. However, on the sensitively opposite end you had sections of the Zimbabwean public who felt disturbed and uncomfortable with socially and politically conscious songs and performances of Winky D.
The Gaffa, Winky D, has dropped a new album compilation this year (2023) titled Eureka Eureka. This is a follow-up to his last successful album compilation released in 2019 tagged Njema. As usual, the Zimdancehall prowess was addressing a lot of social issues around Zimbabwe in lyrical form. He engaged various artistes in the movement including Nutty O, Saintfloew, Holy Ten, Tocky Vibes, Shingai, Anita Jaxson, Mwenje Mathole, Enzo Ishall, Exq, Killer T, Qounfuzed, Herman etcetera.
Eureka Eureka is a music album by Zimdancehall artist, Winky D. The album was launched on 31 December 2022 at the HICC. It contained some controversial song Ibotso which reports suggested was politically charged. The album notably featured other artists on every song. Winky D launched his album at a packed Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on 31 December 2022 and many songs on it have seen the ruling Zanu PF blowing its top, fuming over criticism of its corruption record.
