Greetings One and All

 

Yes it is that time of year again! THE STANSFIELD REGATTA held annually in memory of MR. WALTER HYDE STANSFIELD a keen sailor in his time. The 2010 STANSFIELD REGATTA will be held at MURANDY COTTAGES, SENGA BAY on the weekend of 28th and 29th August 2010. It is a weekend of fun and sailing open to all who would like to sail. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN EXPERIENCED SAILOR. 

 

This year we have been expressly requested to include an Optimist race for the youngsters.

 

AN ENTRY FEE of MK1000.00 per boat. N.B.  There will be no charge for the optimists.  This money is split between the staff as gratuities.

 

THE FORMAT: On Saturday the 28th August 2010 the first race will commence at 10.00am and we propose to fit in as many races as the weather permits.

 

SATURDAY EVENING THE STANSFIELD FAMILIES INVITE YOU ALL TO A COMPLIMENTARY SUPPER with FREE wine starting at 7.00pm. WE WILL ARRANGE AN EARLIER SUPPER FOR THE KIDS.

 

On Sunday the 29th August 2010 racing starts 7.00am until noon, fitting in as many races as weather permits, followed by PRIZE GIVING. The idea is to get in seven races with two discards - weather permitting.

 

HOT DOGS, HAMBURGERS, HAM, CHICKEN, EGG & BACON ROLLS WILL BE AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND AT A NOMINAL CHARGE. BEERS, MINERALS AND BOTTLED WATER WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE - THESE CAN BE SIGNED FOR AND PAID AT THE END OF THE WEEKEND.

SPIRITS CAN ALSO BE PURCHASED FROM MURANDY.

 

COMPLIMENTARY TEA & COFFEE WILL BE AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND.

Accommodation is available at Murandy, for those that require it, at a cost of MK2000.00 per person per night, children under 2 are free. Camping K500 per person.   Please arrange and book accommodation through Wendy Windell on 0999-963346 or 01-263 297 or by email:- win...@africa-online.net.

 

Please kindly advise if you will be participating A.S.A.P. to either Wendy Windell or Jose da Costa on 0888 / 0999-960266, alternatively just reply to this email. This helps with the preparations and for the supper on the Saturday night.

 

If you have any queries or you know of anyone who might be interested who is not on our mailing list, kindly let us know so they may be included.

 

Wouter Verelst, a Belgium guest of mine is very keen to crew for anyone. Please let me know if you are looking for a crew member.
