Friday   4/6      Elizabeth Henry and Tony Gault - filmmakers from Denver
at MILLENNIUM to show "THE CAGE WE ARE TRICKED INTO" - 
Eight short experimental/non-fiction films, 
duration about 60 minutes plus filmmaker dialogue with audience. 
TABERNACLE (1998, 10m), CASE HISTORIES IN PSYCHOTHERAPY (2008, 8m), FOSSIL LIGHT (2009, 7m),GHOST OF YESTERDAY (2012 6m), AN EVENING SCENE ON THE SAME SUBJECT (2012, 7.5m), FOUR CUBIC FEET OF SPACE (2010, 8m), THROUGH THESE TRACKLESS WATERS (2007, 12m). 
 - Collaborators for fifteen years, filmmakers Tony Gault and Elizabeth Henry screen a body of work that examines the human impulse toward dualism and narcissistic command of the planet Earth. Their films create "a cinematic poetry of paranoia as a higher state of consciousness" (Film Threat) and “illustrate the perverse means by which narrative shapes our consciousness" (Slant Magazine).   
  -  ". . . how we might cultivate a new approach to physical, mental and environmental equilibrium."    Tony and Elizabeth both teach film production/film studies at the University of Denver

SUNDAY   4/15       MEMBERS MEETING !   Important for all to attend: 7:00 PM,
to elect Millennium Board Members, director, vote on tweaking bylaws, and other business. It is essential that a quorum of members – at least 50% of those eligible to vote –  attend this meeting. Doors will open at 5:00 PM for new membership registration; 
  New members will eligible to vote once they have had two 6-month memberships within the 2 years immediately past.To be an eligible and active voting member -- conditions include: current membership plus at least one other membership/ donation within the last two years
  Proxy voting is not allowed. This restrictive bylaw is something for the voting members to consider changing.

Amy Taubin
will talk about the digitizing of everything, and why it will be
impossible to fall in love with the movies of the past in the future.

Film journalist, critic, educator, curator, Amy Taubin is a contributing editor to Film Comment and Sight and Sound magazines, writes for Art Forum; received the 2007 Anthology Film Archives Film Preservation Honors’ Siegfried Krakauer Award, and the 2005 Art Historian Award from the School of Visual Arts in 2005.
In a former life she was an actress on Broadway and appears in several avant garde films including those by Jonas Mekas and Michael Snow.
