recruiter running the group; free servers

I have not had much time to do anything for this group, which is also
too far for me now. I am going to give the passwd for lilax.net to a
recruiter who by all accounts is the only interested party I have
found that wants to run the group. I hope this will also encourage
some job seekers to give presentations at LiLAX so that you have a
healthy group of speakers every month.

It was cool to do this for 7 years, or however long I have been at the
helm, but I am moving on to new things. Speaking of which is anyone
interested in playing with Google Compute cloud? It is IaaS and I
have an account with 8 VIPs and 100 GB of storage, anyone have any
good ideas of something to do with it? I am all ears, also have a
BeagleBone that I haven't played with enough yet for lack of a cool
node.js project, don't have the time to make the LiLAX website on it,
or the interest, work, family and old StarTrek episodes are chewing up
all my time.

For those of you who wonder, I moved to Palo Alto CA, to work for SAP.

Congrats Ralf!  Best of luck in your new career / location.  I'm also no longer living in the area (I'm in the Inland Empire - significantly less exciting than Palo Alto) otherwise I would attempt the helm again.

I would like to see LiLAX continue - perhaps as a Meetup. The local geeks at the current South Bay groups aren't quite geeky enough for me and I really enjoyed our last meeting at SpaceX.

I have some longer term interests in Google Cloud. For the moment I'm invested in AWS. However there are sometimes special circumstances in which alternatives are useful. I work with Opcode Chef and I haven't heard that there is much going on with Google Cloud. So I would like to stay informed.
