LightPainters Photographic Expedition to Jonkershoek Nature Reserve

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Spring seems to have settled in and the luscious greens in and around Stellenbosch, resulting from the gorgeous rainfall of last winter, is nothing less than breathtaking!

To celebrate the onset of the new dazzling life that is springing up all around us PICoS is organising an excursion to the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, on Saturday, 29 November 2008. A brochure of the nature reserve is attached for your reading pleasure.

Here is some relevant information:

• Cost of entry permits: R25 per person (depending on numbers, we may be able to negotiate a discount)
• Permitted visiting times: 08:00 - 18:00 daily
• There is a tea-garden at the main entrance where one can enjoy light refreshments.
• There are also picnic facilities in the reserve, as indicated in the attached brochure.

The plan of action for our outing on that Saturday is as follows:

• 07:30 - 08:00: Assembly of members at the main entrance, and procurement of permits.
• 08:00 - 13:00: Wander around photographing anything that strikes  your fancy!
• 13:00 - 14:00: Re-assemble at an agreed-upon location for a social gathering of all participants. (Details to follow)

What you'll need:

• An image capturing device and any necessary peripherals: Anything ranging from pencil and paper, to cellphone cameras, to SLR cameras... It's about you the image-capturer... not the device ;-)
• Comfortable walking shoes.
• Sun block.
• Water.
• Insect Repellent.
