Dear all,
The excursion to the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, Assegaaibosch to be specific, is still on for this coming Saturday (6, December 2008).
The cost of the access permit is R25 per person, and we can get them at the Cape Nature Offices near the fly-fishing spot. All members who have attended Nicole Palmer's course will know where this is. From there, one can get directions to Assegaaibosch where we will spend the morning photographing all things bright and beautiful!
The Cape Nature Office opens at 08:00 in the morning. The venue where we can enjoy some refreshments during the course of the morning is also located near the Cape Nature offices.
For those of us who are 'die-hards' and wish to take pictures in the right light, we can access the place before 08:00 with the understanding that we will then return to the office and purchase an access permit. If there are any members interested in going early and getting the opportunity to shoot in the best possible light, let me know. I am willing to be there as early as 5 if necessary. Just let me know the earliest you are willing to be there, and we'll make arrangements.
For those willing to attend, please respond to this email as soon as possible and indicate that you will be attending. Furthermore, be sure to bring:
- your camera equipment (compacts, SLRs, lenses, filters, tripods, batteries, memory cards, etc)
- sun-block with a suitable protection factor
- a hat
- insect repellent (if you are sensitive to bites like I am)
- some pocket money for the access pass and some light refreshments
- AN APPETITE FOR FUN PHOTOGRAPHY!
Meeting times:
- Normal: 08:00 at the Cape Nature offices
- Die-hard: TBA (anytime from 05:00 onwards)
I look forward to seeing you there!
Best regards,
