I've been asked many times for a complete show project file example. Since there are way more talented lighting designers out there than me, I'm pretty shy when it comes to showing my "messy" project files.
So anyway, here it is, a project file for a show I did lately :) The artist was Martha Wainwright singing mostly folk rock songs in a small venue (about 150 persons). There was 3 RGBAW moving heads, 40 RGBAW led fixtures, 20 parcans and 4 fresnels. I've created 17 scenes by extracting the color palettes from Martha's video clips. Each scene has a corresponding image file in the media library. I've pre-programmed all scenes with the proper intensity for each fixture type. You'll see this in the sequencer grid.
One thing to note is that I've used the duplicate grid using shared layout feature to keep grids in sync. So when I needed to add some fixtures or move them around, I just needed to change the master grids. During the live show, I used a little Akai LPD8 to trigger scene change and adjust the intensity if needed.
That's about it! A pretty standard show using a cuelist. Finally, here's a picture taken during the rehearsal. Cheers!
