In this scenario, you are working with lots of fixtures (for example 1000 RGB fixtures) and after taking an hour positioning the intensity attributes in one grid, you want to create another grids with the same layout for the hue and saturation attributes. How can you do that in a few clicks?

1) Duplicate your grid containing the layout you want to reuse
2) Go in the newly created grid and select the new attributes you want to use in the attribute list at the right. For example, if you want all hue attributes, type hue in the search box and select them all.
3) Go in the Edit/Attributes menu and click the Replace By List Selection item.

Result:

All attributes replaced, lightning fast!

This works for any type of attributes, not only hue, saturation and intensity.

Hi Mathieu,

For your advice: Wanna use this method (Clt + Shift + O) for a grid having the same intensity attribute (B) in many different position to replace it all with another intensity attribute (A). However, it prompt a message of "No Attribute Replaced" (Screencap below). Have I missed any step? Thanks!

Best,
Amy

Hi Amy,

Yes, this replace command is a bit tricky. It only replaces attributes by other attributes of the same fixture. So it's useful to swap the intensity for the hue attribute of the same fixture.

There's another replace command named "Replace by list selection, same order by position" that can replace an attribute by the attribute of another fixture like you want. But it needed some modifications to be enabled when only attribute is selected on the list.

I've done the modifications in the new beta: https://www.lightjams.com/history.html

So now if you press ctrl+shift+f, it should replace all your B intensity attributes by the A intensity attributes.

This function saves my day by skipping the manual entering the positions for different light. Thank you so much, Mathieu!! You are wonderful!!!
