I have two grids.  GridBlue and GridRed.
Both grids have face in and fade out turned on
Both grids have attributes turned on.
I have a third grid that has the activation attribute for GridBlue and GridRed on it.
When I send 100% power to GridBlue, It fades in nicely.
If I then move my source so it "shines" on GridRed, GridBlue does not fade out and GridRed fades in.
I would expect to see a nice cross fade.

Or an even simpler example:
The Activation attribute for GridBlue is the only thing on the third grid.
When I turn on a power source, gridblue fades in nicely.
when I turn off the power source, grid blue just goes off.

Howcome?

When a grid is deactivated, it's no longer evaluated. If you want to fade out a grid, fade out its activation.

You can set the fade out time in the activation attributes on your 3rd grid (sequencer grid). Select the activation attributes and you'll see the fade in and out parameters on the right panel.

Great idea.  Not a cross fade, but getting close.
