I'm sure the answer to this is on this forum somewhere, but I can't find it. For a permanent installation, how can I ensure that Lightjams will start up when power is restored, if it there's a power cut etc? Thanks.

I use the windows functionality where you can have a file launch upon startup, and that file is my lightjams showfile.  Works well.

There's a full post on it here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/lightjams/jePoRcQsoYw/gb5YCNz7AgAJ

Basically there's a built-in function in LightJams for opening it on startup (like Michael) says, plus some nice additional tips there :)

No need to put a project file in the Windows startup folder anymore! In Lightjams, go in the view/configuration menu and then in the general tab. Then enable the "'Run at startup" option. This automatically starts Lightjams when the computer starts and load the most recent project.

To ensure your computer starts when the power is back up, you need to activate this option in the BIOS. It's usually under the power options.

For the restore power after failure option in the Bios, most desktops have it, but not all laptops do unfortunately (but they have a battery so are less prone to power loss).

For permanent installations, I like to launch lightjams with the ''-locked'' option. that way no one can tamper with the project.

@Mathieu, does the -locked option make LJ use less ressources then leaving it on a empty grid?

*Shortcut for the Windows Startup Folder: WIN+R (run) then type shell:startup

About the same.

I don’t like using this in case someone loads a wrong/different file or something.   This way in case of any issues, a restart of the computer will get the installation back up and running
