I picked up a couple of RGBAW+UV fixtures recently, and am currently configuring them as RGBAW, effect, RGBAW, effect, ... (where effect is the UV channel). This works but means UV is treated separately.

Any chance you could add new RGBAW+UV and RGBWA+UV options to the fixture editor, and treat UV similarly to the amber channel so it is blended in? Quick research shows that most LED UV lights are around 400-410nm, and that they would be used around 274 degrees. What I haven't found is a good HSI mapping, since it seems like the UV component should be maximum at high saturation.

Hi Brooks,

In the latest beta (version 333), I've added a dimmable effect capability. If you use it for the UV, at least the master dimmer and grid's activations will play well with it.

Adding a new RGBWA+UV capability might be a good idea. I'll need to find a good way to convert from HSI though. However, I'm not so sure UV should be handled like other colors since it creates a particular effect (makes fluorescent clothes glow for example). So it may be a good idea to keep it as a separate channel...

Yep! I am using the dimmable effect capability in 333 and it's working great. Agreed on the UV effect not always being desirable. But the rich violets sure are nice when it's subtle!

Here's a potentially interesting abstraction of HSI -> LED colors: http://blog.saikoled.com/post/133625978643/full-cie-color-correction-with-the-teensy-31

That looks interesting because you could theoretically specify each of the color channels in a light based on wavelength, which gets towards color correction in addition to supporting arbitrary LED colors.
