Hi! Really enjoying with your trial version, but I would like to ask about the best way to connect an Avolites Pearl to Lightjams in order to launch the scenes. We have more lights, moving heads and pars programmed with the Avolites, and we want to use lightjams to program several matrix grids for a 30 x 15 blinder panel, but launching it with the Avolites. We have to experiment because the midi may work, but in case that we need DMX communication, what's the best choice for DMX to USB and DMX to USB?

Thank you very much and congratulations again for the software!

Ok, just found it in the web:
http://www.lightjams.com/getIt.html#dmxIn

So, one of this: http://shop.dmxking.com/eDMX1_p_8.html for receive information from the avolites, and one of this: http://shop.dmxking.com/ultraDMX-Micro_p_15.html to send DMX to the fixtures, am I right?

Thanks!

If your budget permits I'd recommend using Ethernet DMX units rather than USB DMX. You might even be able to have the Avolites send ArtNet directly to your LightJams computer and eliminate the DMX input interface altogether. If not then use something like eDMX2 and configure port A as DMX input (from Avolites) and port B as DMX output (to fixtures).

Sorry I meant to say eDMX2 RDM since the eDMX TX will not operate as a DMX input device.

Thank you very much Jason. That's a good option, but one ethernet cable can work for input and output simultaneously? Sorry, I'm really new in this. I read that it "Merges Art-Net + DMX Input -> DMX Output", but I don't understand if it can work sending the DMX input to the ethernet and the ethernet trought the output...

The eDMX2 ports operate independently which means 1 can be DMX output whilst the other is a DMX input.
Send Art-Net to Port A universe -> DMX Output on Port A
Receive DMX on Port B -> Art-Net Output to universe configured for Port B

Some Ethernet DMX hardware will only operate as all ports Send or all ports Receive however eDMX is fully independent.

You probably don't need merging in this situation unless you wanted the Avolites console to control the blinders as well as LightJams. This gets a bit more complicated but if it's required drop me a note via our CRM page https://shop.dmxking.com/crm.asp?action=contactus
