We're using Reaper as our DAW with the lightjams plugin.  In Reaper I can have 8 songs open in tabs that I can assign to my midi controller.   So 8 buttons each associated with selecting a song.  The automation for the plugin is saved in each song so that's all good and well.

My question is this, is there a way to automate or control switching files in lightjam? Or will I have to have ALL of my programs in one file and just keep over-complicating my sequencer? Or, I guess have multiple sequencers that each OSC automation is associated with, with a master sequencer?  I dunno the logistics yet but I know it can do it that way.  But, for organization and a cleaner set-up, I'd rather save each song in its own lightjams file and just switch to the next file when I switch to the next song in Reaper.

My end-goal is to not have to touch the laptop during a performance.  We don't have someone running lights, I'm the guitarist, and I'm running the lights.  Any and all suggestions are welcome!!  Thanks!!

Hi,

You can create one group per program. Then activate the proper program group via one osc value  This way, you can reuse the same osc values in different programs.

That's what I'm already doing for just one song.  It seems to be the best solution for what I'm trying to do, although I am very new to all of this.  So what I'm really looking for is a group of program groups, which is how I see the lightjams project itself.  So I'd have to have the OSC for different songs all going the same range on the X axis then move one up on the Y-axis for the next song and continue on the X and keep doing that with all the program groups in one lightjam session.  I'm looking to abstract that out a bit more.  Does that make sense or am I thinking about this the complete wrong way?  I might just go back and re-read everything about what I'm doing here, lol

You can create groups of groups if you want. The idea is that you'll be able to reuse the same osc values for each song.
