Just a note about using dimmer or dimmable effect attributes for midicontrollers in general, it does of course work, but it has a drawback, if one uses Lightjams Master Dimmer, the midicontroller will follow that, which is really annoying, even more since things with RGB or RGY buttons will change color and potentially flash before going of completly depending on the controller at hand.
Sure, one does not have to use the master dimmer, but it can sometimes be very useful, so I prefer using Effect for my midicontrollers, and the solution that Mat mentions would be my preferred one and similar to how I do it in my setups.
I have a Novation Launchpad, the first version of it, and I havent actually been able to get that to respond to Midi output from Lightjams, not sure why, I started using that before Lightjams had Midi Out functionality, so back then I used Novation Automap, and not long after Mat added Midi Out we switched to primarily using a Akai APC Mini, and now we also use an Akai APC 40mk2, so never really got around to getting the Launcpad up and running with Midi Out. I did try it a while ago, but abandoned it, could be because we also needed to send on Midi Channel 1 to our APC 40mk2 at the same time, but I´m not sure we ever got the Launchpad to receive anything.
Does anyone know if it just listens to Notes on Midi Channel 1?
